Ayub Medical College’s Department of Community Medicine, in collaboration with the Health Department, organized a workshop at Ayub Medical College entitled “Sehatmand kal for a better Tomorrow”.
The workshop was attended by Dean Ayub Medical College and CEO Ayub Teaching Hospital Prof. Dr. Umar, DHO Faisal Khanzada, Medical Director ATH Alam Zeb Swati, Hospital Director Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed, Nursing Director Shamsul Huda and other doctors of Ayub Medical College Lady Health Workers and doctors from the DHO office.
Dr. Zeeshan gave presentation about the project and briefed the participants about the results.
The objective of the event was to share the results of a research study done by the department of community medicine in which they have introduced M-Health techniques to conduct health education for the pregnant ladies and lactating mothers. The results showed that the knowledge ,attitude and practices related to pregnancy and lactation significantly improved resulting into better pregnancy outcomes and healthy mother and child. This is a landmark research study and if implemented in the whole pakistan,it will result in to decreased maternal and infant deaths.
At the end of the ceremony, the participants of the workshop were awarded certificates.
