The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Ayub Medical College Abbottabad, organized a meeting and orientation session on Wednesday, 20th May 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to discuss and facilitate the accomplishment of annual quality enhancement targets assigned by Khyber Medical University (KMU). The session was held in the QEC Office and brought together key stakeholders involved in institutional quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

The primary objective of the session was to create awareness regarding the annual targets set by KMU and to develop a coordinated strategy for their timely completion before the stipulated deadline of 30th June 2026. The meeting provided a valuable platform for discussing responsibilities, expectations, and collaborative efforts required to achieve these objectives.

The session commenced with a comprehensive presentation by Prof. Dr. Ruqqia Sultana, Director Quality Enhancement Cell, who highlighted the role and significance of the QEC in promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the institution. She provided an overview of the QEC’s organizational structure, core functions, major initiatives, ongoing quality enhancement activities, and notable achievements. Emphasizing the importance of collective participation, she encouraged all departments and stakeholders to actively contribute towards achieving institutional quality goals.

Subsequently, Dr. Sara Jadoon, Focal Person QEC, delivered a detailed briefing on the annual targets assigned by KMU. She outlined the specific objectives, implementation requirements, timelines, and expected outcomes associated with each target. Participants were guided on the necessary documentation, monitoring mechanisms, and departmental responsibilities to ensure the successful completion of assigned tasks within the given timeframe.

The session was attended by Prof. Dr. Irfan Khattak, Dean & CEO Ayub Medical College, members of the QEC core team, QEC focal persons from Basic and Clinical Sciences departments, and student representatives.

The active participation of faculty and students reflected the institution’s commitment to inclusive quality assurance practices and stakeholder engagement.
During the interactive discussion, participants shared ideas and recommendations for effective implementation of quality initiatives and explored ways to strengthen coordination among departments. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work collaboratively towards achieving the KMU-assigned targets and further enhancing the quality standards of Ayub Medical College.
