International Institute of Learning Medicine (IILM) was established just after the devastating earthquake of 2005. Since its inception over 20000 people have been trained in basic and advanced life support, and this includes faculty members, medical students, nurses and paramedics from Ayub Medical Institution.

A meeting was held in Ayub Medical College on 5th November 2018, chaired by Prof. Umer Farooq and attended by Prof. Ahsan Aurangzeb, MD, ATH, Dr. Ather Lodhi, HD, ATH, Brig. (Retd) Qamar Sultana, Nursing Directcor and Mr. Haider Ali, Director Finance ATH. The team from IILM included Dr. Khurram Shahzad, Managing Director, Disaster Relief by Irish & Pakistan and Consultant Emergency physician, Ireland, Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Regional Director and Chief Trainer Instructor IILM, Pakistan, Mr. Asif Mahmood Director Admin and Mr. Faisal Jalal, In charge EDHI Ambulance Service, Punjab.

IILM & DRIP proposed the following programs and courses in Ayub Medical Institution:-

1 – Structured Training Program for all the doctors, nurses paramedics in Basic Life Support as per guidelines of National Ambulance Service College, Dublin as per guidelines of Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council, Ireland.

2 – IILM & DRIP will share guidelines of Clinical Governance with AMI.

3 – Further courses of various levels will be adapted by the institution for Human Resource Development in AMI.

4 – AMI will link General Practitioner services and dispensaries for filter, referral and screening clinics.The name of AMI may be used in various clinics.

5 – Paramedical staff will be trained as Resuscitation Officers and Inspecting Officers for infection control, cleaning, applying SoPs and also as Patient Liaison Officers.

6 – Staff of ATH will be trained for Clinical Audit, Risk Managers and developing Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs).

7- Team of specialists within AMI will develop Clinical Practice Guidelines.

8 – Feasibility of initiation of Ambulance Service College at AMI will be prepared and submitted to BoG for approval.
