Founder principal of Ayub Medical College Abbottabad, Professor Abdul Jamil Khan popularly known as Professor Dr. A J Khan left for his heavenly abode today on 17 October 2021.
Professor A J Khan born in 1930 completed MBBS from King Edward Medical College Lahore in the early 1950s. After MRCP and FRCP he remained professor of Medicine.
He was the founder Principal of Bolan Medical College Quetta too. He established as founder, one of the first private medical colleges, Frontier Medical & Dental College Abbottabad in the early 1990s. In his distinguished career, he remained Federal Director General Health Service in the late 1980s. He had been the President of PMDC, President of Pharmacy Council, and President of Nursing Council too.
He also served as Federal Minister for Population Welfare from 2007 to 2008. Widely respected, Professor Dr. AJ Khan was a recipient of Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
His countless services for humanity and enormous contribution to medical education around the world will be remembered for a long time to come. Thousands of his students mourn his sad demise around the globe which include senior professionals in all specialities.
